BMC 800 from Toshiba Toshiba Tosnuc CNC Training This has got to be one of my favourite controls. Call me a geek but I get really excited about this kind of stuff.
Below is the 888 control. (The 666 is a bit of a devil to programme) Considering how old these controls are they are packed with great functions. The editing is a dream. It has a clipboard, well it has loads of clipboards, so you can keep bits of code you use often on different clipboards. When you need em you can quickly call them out and insert into your programme. This control is really well thought out you can do things like adding spaces to all your code at the push of a button and likewise take them out again. The other thing is it has these funny dice icons.
You can assign keystrokes to each dice so anything you do on a regular basis can be stored and used at one press of a button. The playing card icons are assigned to screen window arrangements. Again at the press of a button you can have your programme prove out page laid out just how you like it. You can really customise this control and make it your own. MDI (Manual Data Input) So for example something you regularly use in MDI like move to zero return you could let it record as you clear the MDI screen and input the code. Once recorded this will be one press of a button (or a roll of the dice) Anyone for poker? I could bang on for ages about this control.
Why not I think I will? It’s got corner rounding and chamfering. G1 X50.: R20. This code could be putting corners on a square. You just programme point to point.

Let’s make em chamfers. G1 X50.: C20. It’s even got a built in floppy disc. I think at this time on a Fanuc control you needed a degree in computer science and a skilled electrician to connect up and get data out of a machine.For our younger viewers a floppy disc was like a squashed memory stick. Oh and no zero return shit! Yes you just turn it on.
How easy is that. Yes it is ISO programming that is G code programming is definitely not easy to learn. Unfortunately we’re kind of stuck with it because it is what everybody knows.
Anyway on this control there are lots of extra cycles like G12 which is full circle milling also found on Haas controls. This cycle can rough and finish a circular pocket. You could just use it to mill a full circle, it uses a tangential approach so there are no entry and exit marks. This circular pocket also uses cutter compensation. So you don’t have to worry your sweet little head about it’s all included. It’s like one of those holidays in Spain where you can get drunk all day and eat as many burgers as you want, all inclusive.
In case you don’t know what tangential infeed it. It’s a sexually transmitted disease. Actually it just means you approach the circle in a circular motion.
Great thing is you don’t get a line where the cutter first approaches the part. There are face milling cycles and drill pattern cycles and loads more. It can even make a cappuccino. This is a high end top quality machine so it comes all singing all dancing.
You get Toshiba Tosnuc Macro programming which allows you to do all kinds of clever shit. You can alias it to G codes and M codes to create your own cycles. Talk to if you want to buy one (oh you will need to be rich). This is a real quality machine but second hand prices are very reasonable.
Bit big for the garage might be better off persuading the wife to live in the machine. Available exclusively with Toshiba's MPF-C Series and BP-150.822 and NX-76 machines, the controller effectively provides smooth, fast, safe, and easy operation. For example, featuring CNC Shape, the Tosnuc 888 forecasts a workpiece profile based on forward data and then calculates acceleration and deceleration to maintain high accuracy and high speed. The result is a smoother surface finish. CNC Shape also automatically changes feed rates in corners and at the corner's edge to avoid machine shock.
Efficiency is enhanced with the Tosnuc's SF Function. It minimizes the need for hand finishing by interpolating between each cutting point by quadratic or cubic curve. To maintain constant chip load, the SF Function allows for an automatic change in feed rate and spindle speed relative to cutter contact diameter. In Mode 1, RPM and feed rate are based on cutter contact radius; while in Mode 2, RPM and feed rate are based on acceleration and deceleration.
The SF Function achieves a smoother surface and reduced cutter wear. The Tosnuc 888's Zone Machining Function allows a change in the Z-axis direction or cutting condition in a zone set in advance without changing NC data.
G Codes For Tosnuc 888
Time is saved, as only one program is needed to machine two different types of materials. Zone Machining also automatically changes spindle speeds and feed rates in a specified zone. Thanks to a Timer Cycle Function, an operator can set a check point during machining for tool wear without changing NC data. Based on tool wear, the machine either continues using the current tool or selects a spare tool. A 3-dimensional tool path is created in the CNC controller using NURBS Interpolation. An excellent finish surface and smaller program size are advantages gained from the Tosnuc 888's NURBS Interpolation Function. What's more, the innovative Robo Drill Function uses a special tool and control method to make inclined holes without special attachments.
In addition, an In Corner Cutting Function (currently under development) will machine sharp edge corners by using a rotational tool. This will reduce EDM operation and lead time.

I am a newbie when it comes to programming. I would like to learn more but do not have the time nor the money that is needed to get better.
I need to know how to write a circular interpolation program or a spiral down program, (whichever is the proper terminology), for a, let's say a three inch diameter hole, four inches deep, using a one and a quarter inch, four flute shell mill. I understand the I and J but I do not know how to enter the Z depth nor how much of a step down to use. Or better yet, what Letter represents the step down. Would somebody out there please show me an example. I am not sure.
What does the D represent? I thought that I would be able to write the program something like this: N10 G17 G20 G40 G80 G90 N20 G00 X0 Y0 Z5.
N30 G01 Z0 F100 N40 G03 X.875 Y0 Q.125 I.875 J0 L32 N50 G00 Z5. I know I left out the spindle speed and Stop, but I would like to know if this is correct. The proper term is Helical interpolation for a start imgsmile.gif/img and heres an example for you to use with comments, its written as a subprogram, so that you can do more than 1 hole. Hi every body I have Toshiba milling machine with tosnuc 777.2 control. The model of machine is VMC-55E with 3 axis.
Riso rz 300 service manual. We confront with this alarm. I have changed batteries in encoder for two axes (Y, Z), And a battery connected to the main board (down battery).
However the alarm don’t remove. What can I do? And other problem, I don’t have any information about the parameters of the machine. I can see a limited number of Parameter of machine. How can I access the rest of the parameters?( And explanations of them.) how can i see program num 90000000 for ATC cycle? How can i active (or see) all parameret of matchine? Please guide me.

Mohamadi, As has already been said get a manual for your control or better yet find someone familiar with them and get him to come to you. Here’s what the 888 book says in this case: 8-022 Absolute detector is abnormal The coordinate system cannot be established due to illegal absolute communication data transferred between the NC and position detector. Cause 1 – Absolute data communication error. Cause 2 – The absolute communication cable has broken.

Cause 3 – Absolute data error. For cause 3 execute the SETHOME operation. I'm not sure which tosnuc system you are running, but if I remember right you need to use a k value in your sub.
